If you own a range hood equipped with a mesh wire filter, you are likely already aware of the necessary steps for cleansing it correctly. Obtain rubber gloves, a scrubbrush, dish soap, and an appropriate receptacle to contain the filter while you clean it; a plate or bowl can easily be used to prop up the filter. Some may choose to use a toothbrush in order to get into tighter spaces. In the end, any scenario requires one basic tool: a sink.
The filter should be submerged in a sink full of steamy hot soap suds and be left for several minutes – long enough to dissolve any stubborn caked-on grease or dirt.
After allowing the filter to submerge in the cleaning liquid for a while, use a scrub brush to go over it and ensure any particularly grime-laden surfaces are targeted. A toothbrush may also be utilised to target smaller nooks and crannies that even the scrub brush may have difficulty reaching.
For your range hood to remain free of grease and grime, make sure to clean the filter and then nose it off with hot water. Afterwards, prop it up on a plate or bowl so that can it fully dry for your peace of mind. Once correctly dried, you can simply return the filter to its position inside the range hood.
